I wanted to snap a picture but I was too busy enjoying the moment.
The kids were playing outside while I was making dinner. I went to check on them and found Stephen in a tree with Jack's stuffed animal cat (that he carry's everywhere and has named kitty katty). Jack was on the ground with a stick trying to reach the cat and help it out of the tree.
Stephen told me he had placed the cat high in the tree and was training his brother to be a firefighter because sometimes firefighters have to help get cats out of trees.
Once Jack would get the cat down with his stick, Stephen would try a new spot.
By the time dinner was done cooking they came running inside and Jack was so excited because he thought he was an official fireman. He told me Stephen had trained him and said he was fireman ready. And since all it takes to be a fireman is a little training from Stephen, I couldn't disagree with him.
I love the way kids minds work.
After dinner it was fun to pull out my old firefighting photos and show the kids that their old mom used to be one of those "cool" firefighters.
They were a little more interested in watching a cartoon, but I had fun reminiscing.

I am so sad that we missed you guys last week when you came to town. It was a pretty crazy day with the match. We're moving to Rochester, NY so if you guys ever make it up that way you are always welcome to come stay with us :)
your boys are so cute!
Say what??!! You were a firefighter...you are kidding right? I am gullable... Very funny story, I love those boys-and we miss you guys too, I feel like we are having withdrawals! ;)
I still can't believe anyone would ever trust YOU to fight a fire! Brave, brave souls! :) Just kidding... I'm excited for you to come... and yes, beaded watch bands are popular here... but no, I don't have one. Guess I'm just not cool like that!
